This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. I gave birth in 2012 to my baby girl Layla. She was 38 weeks 6 days gestation. She died some time during the labor. Between me leaving the and reaching the hospital. I gave birth within 15 minutes of stepping into the hospital. No heart beat was detected on arrival. Layla was kicking before I left the house.
Layla died from Chorioamnionitis.
In the last 3 or 4 weeks of my pregnancy I continuously called and showed up to the hospital in pain saying something is wrong and no one listened.
Recently in the news a story broke about the hospital being negligent and the board was sacked. There was 11 stillbirth and neonatal deaths within 2 years.
This is a small country town hospital. 7 deaths so far have been found to be preventable.
Now we are going through legal proceedings for our daughter.
Everything is resurfacing. I was always in denial about Layla actually being mine and actually loosing her. This is so tough.
I don't know who to talk to or where to find support

I contacted lawyers after the new broke. I always knew my baby would have been saved if they listened to me. I didn't think I had a case though. I just excepted amd tried to move on.
The first inquest was initially for 2013/14 but so many people have come forward.
One dr pulled a miscarriaged baby from the mother while she was awake and showed it to her!
I can't believe it!
I am so sorry that this has happened to you too and my heart goes out to you. It won't bring your lovely Layla back but I so hope you achieve justice.
