This mite be a lil picker upper for some peoples spirits that every once in awhile ull run across a complete stranger that understands how your feeling.
I went to my tattoo parlor today to look in on a memorial tattoo for my son Max. The artist that I normaly go thru was not there so I told another artist what I was interested in. There were lots of people around and held my tears in very hard when I told him what I wanted. I pulled out the book I got at the hospital with his footprints on it and told him I wanted a footprint with his name and date. Everyone around us went compeatly silent..like I just told the man I had a bomb or something...He took the book and walked away for a min. The owner of the store is a very well known artist in this reagion and is by appoint only and very exclusive costomers. The artist had told him my story and the owner came up to me and asked if he could do the tattoo for me. He knows how special these particular ones are to person and wants it to be perfect for me and my sons honor. Maybe its just me but I was flattered. Hes goin to draw it up and call me and get it done by the end of the day even if he has to stay late. Tomorrow is one week since my sleeping angel was born and I want that peice of him with me when I wake in the morn.I guess it goes to show that when ur not even looking someone mite be standing rite next to u that knows the feeling of the pain we hold inside and just wants to help.

Some people truly do have good hearts. I am actually going to get the same type of tattoo in honor of Kaylee. I am getting her footprints, with her name and date as well on my ankle. Good luck and I hope you post some pics!

That's awesome! Post a pic when it's done. I was thinking of getting one, too. I just am not sure where...where are you doing it?

Its on my arm. I love it..its almost the exact copy of his footprint..cant get every detail but he got as close as the best can. I will post pics

Some people just GET how we feel! That is so wonderful that he will do this for you and knows how important it is for you. I expirenced the same sort of thing from a taxi driver. He asked if I were ok and could tell I was lying. He then asked how my baby was because he was taking me to the maternity wing of a huge hospital here. I couldn't handle it but he came right out and said he knew how I felt that he and his wife had lost 2 babies. I could tell that he knew how I feel and I was so thankful to have someone to talk about everything that had happened. I wish that others wouldn't get so quiet when I talk about it, why do people shut down when it comes to death. I would rather talk about the good times than the bad but still want to talk about it!!!

That's so wonderful. Funny how it takes so little to trigger our grief, and also how uplifted we can be by small gestures. How important it is for our babies and our loss to be recognised.
My hubby and I also want to get tattoos of our bub's prints. How do they replicate them/ transfer them> I have no idea :S
I really want it to be just like Jack's feet. I guess I should just get it together and find a good artist, But I'd be interested in knowing the process your artist used to replicate the prints.

I wasnt there when he drew it up but I can tell u what I saw. He copied the feet on compying machine so he wouldt have to draw on the book. He highlighted certain features that stuck out on the foot. He had a few copys of the foot infront of him when he tattooed it to get as close as he could to the real footprint. When it is scetch on me it looked funny and not like the footprint but one he was done it was almost the exact replica. I posted a pic. No artist can get it perfect but with the certain features he highlighted it pretty darn close to the exact.
