It's been exactly 3 weeks ago today that I lost my daughter. 2 weeks since her funeral. Most days I feel like a zombie with no direction, not knowing what to do, just going through the motions of living. I cry a lot at unexpected times during the day. I have days that I'm just pissed at the world. 4 weeks ago, I woke up happy every morning. I had direction and purpose everyday. I was very optimistic and cheery, sometimes annoyingly so. I want my happy back so much, I want my daughter back so much. I don't want to be this person that I am now permanently. This all sucks so much! I hope some day I'll see (at least some of) the happy woman I used to be.

Hang in there. I dealt with the same issues. Three months later I'm starting to feel a little better and find myself happy and laughing again.

That Makes Me Feel A Lot Better Knowing It Could Get Better. Please Don't Mind The Caps, I'm Not Sure What's Wrong With My Phone.

I am so sorry for your loss hun, the beginning is so hard...the pain is so raw and intense. I lost my daughter 10 months ago due to a cord accident and while I still have some very rough days things have become much easier. I still miss her like crazy but i can function normally most days. The best advice that I received in the beginning was to be patient with yourself and grieve however you feel you need to. What we have been through is extremely tramatic and has forever changed us. Things will get easier and the pain will become less intense over time even though right now it doesn't seem that way. In the beginning sometimes getting out of bed was about all i could handle and that is all i would do until i got a little stronger. Hang in there and know you have so many people here to help you get through this. Big hugs!

Every day you wake up and face is a success...remember that!!! I am so sorry to hear that you are so close to grief right now...but it WILL get better, I promise! I'm seven years out and still working it all out, but everyday that I can smile, I know I honor my twins, because they are happiest when they know I am doing well. Your little girl wants the same I can feel it so give yourself time and cry when you need to BUT smile whenever you can!!! Message me or anyone here, we have a great community in this support group.

I do remember feeling exactly like that many years ago now. I promise you that it does get better. I thought it never would, but it does. One day the sun will start to shine again and you will smile and laugh and be that happy person again. As others have said, give yourself time to grieve. Be patient with yourself. You deserve to be happy again and you will be. Hugs to you!
