Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
Getting pregnant again is extremely emotional, but it is worth it. You need to be sure you are physically ready, and you need to be sure that you are as mentally ready as you deem necessary. I don't think anyone can ever be 100% mentally ready to go through a pregnancy again...but if you get excited at the thought of trying again then that's a good sign you are in a good spot.
If your doctor says you are physically ready then the rest is up to you and the papa. It might take some time to agree, but it will be a healing process, and imagine what the results could bring!
With regards to fear... it's worse before than during, coz once you're on the ride, you have no option but to face it and go... they say it gets worse getting to the week you lost your angel, and near the end... I'll never get to that week ever again, coz my angel was born on her EDD.
I think as humans we can never be little islands not doing anything for fear of getting hurt, and we all know girls who avoid relationships because of past hurts, but we feel sad for them that they avoid the possibility of being happy... I think it's the same with trying for a rainbow, it will always be risky, always be scary, but don't avoid it and lose the possibility of being a mom..
I don't think of it as replacing my angel, I think of it as directing all these mommy feelings and thoughts I have, and channeling this love that breaks my heart into a new and very special life.. and many times I've heard, if you could go back and not have your angel to save you this pain would you, and every time I've heard me and other moms say, no way... I'd rather have my angel than no baby at all, and that's how I feel about my rainbow. Whatever happens, its life is more important to me than the risk I feel I have to take... good luck talking to your boyfriend and hope this helps!!!
