Hi, I have the misfortune of being new here. I was 37weeks along when we met our 'sleeping angel' Jeremy. November 30/2011, he was a long awaited little brother to our other son who turns 7 today... I'm trying to keep it together and get in the holiday spirit for him but hitting the stores right now are so difficult, baby clothes and toys all around, grandparents looking for 'baby's first' gifts.. I see these things all around and just 'break down' I just toss my shopping cart and RUN crying out of the stores. I know people say it gets easier with time but I can't see the end anytime soon.
My husbands cousin gave birth to a healthy baby boy 3 weeks before our Jeremy arrived, although I truly am happy for her and her husband I can't help but look at him and be so sad because I see a baby that looks so close to my own, and she smoked cigars and drank for the first three months not knowing she was even pregnant yet He is fine, and even after taking all my vitamins, staying on bed rest for weeks on end and eating organic Jeremy still died and no one can tell me why. I am just dreading passing the holidays having to look at her and her baby.

My husband has a cousin who also has a new baby boy and i have not been able to buy him anything, i have just given money to his aunt to get him something.
I hope you find support in your son over the hoildays, as i have in my 3 year old.
I also hope that you find support from the women in this group who have helped me more then anyone else during this time.

I know exactly how you feel about other babies though. My sister AND sister-in-law both had babies 1 month before my son was born. It took me a long time before I was able to hold my nieces. I can hold them now but it is still hard because I keep thinking that my son should be here having fun with his cousins.
I also had the perfect pregnancy. I did everything I was supposed to while pregnant women around me were eating fast food, smoking, etc. and they had perfectly healthy children. I really don't understand how the universe works sometimes. We are taught that if we follow rules, good things will happen. But I guess that is not always the case.
I'm glad you found this site. The holidays are going to be hard on us all so I am glad we have each other for support since we all undersatnd the pain that we are going through. ((Hugs))
