Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.

It's almost 2 months since and the pain is still strong but there are moments I feel I can breathe again. It's not as raw as the very first weeks.
What really helps me is writing down my thoughts, telling my son all the feelings I have for him. When I feel my pain build up, I start writing in my journal and cry as I write.
After my body healed, I started exercising, my husband and I go for daily walks together and try to communicate our thoughts to one another as much as possible.
There hasn't been a day I've not cried yet, but it's not all day long like it was the first weeks. This is a terrible loss we all experienced, just take it one moment at a time, be open with your partner and don't judge him if he has a different way of dealing.
I too lost my baby girl 7 1/2 weeks ago. It seemed like I had a healthy pregnancy. Bubs was so active. I felt amazing and loved every bit of the pregnancy. There was days when bubs was a bit quiet but that evening she would be moving and kicking again. I didn't think much of it and many friends had said that their bubs did the same. 2 days before bubs came, she was quiet for 2 days in a row. I have no idea why I didn't check it out. I wish that I had it checked out! I feel stupid for not checking it out. I went into labour on my due date - 40wks. She didn't survive the labour. I birthed her sleeping. My husband and I are totally devastated. It took us 8 rounds of IVF and 10 years to conceive her. She was so so precious. We had a full post mortem done on her and the placenta. She was absolutely perfect in every way. Unfortunately my placenta wasn't. I had undiagnosed IUGR. Bubs was only 37 wks in size. And my placenta had Massive Perivillous Fibrin Deposits. What makes this all so sad, my husband and I questioned my doctor about my low weight gain and belly size. She didn't seem to think of it as a issue. I wish she had taken the time to consider it more carefully, due to my history of recurrent miscarriage and how precious this pregnancy was to us. She new of my fear of still birth. She wasn't careful enough, I wasn't careful enough. To top it off, the hospital I birthed at was completely negligent. When I arrived to hospital, everything seemed fine with bubs, heartrate and my b.p. They checked my every hr, then they just stopped. They did not check my baby's heart rate, my blood pressure, my hydration for 3 hours, when I was in established labour. It was with in these hours that she passed away from hypoxia. She could have been saved. How on earth could a hospital be so negligent in Australia. This is not a third world country.
So dealing with the trauma of birth, the loss of our perfect baby girl, fertility challenges and if we will every get the chance to have a family again. The thought of doing more IVF makes me sick. We had a perfect little girl, ready to be birthed. My longing for a child is ever so strong. Hoping for another miracle, the first one was our little girl, this time a natural conception and a beautiful soul that my husband and I can help flourish in this world.
P.S. I cry every day. This loss is never going away. But hopefully joy will fill more space and lessen the pain I so acutely feel right now.
P.P.S. My love goes out to all mothers that have lost baby's. xx
The first 2 weeks I was in shock and in full grief mode with all the text book symptoms. I don't remember much of those 2 wk. I managed to only do 1 - 2 tasks in a day. But my husband and I got out in nature every day. We found so much comfort in it. We talked openly about our feeling.
Each week has been getting a tiny bit easier.
Wasn't until about wk 5 that I could do things I normally do such as meditation and diary writing. Before I was just in survival mode!
Here is a list I what I have done -
Meditate.
Yoga

I'm so sorry for your loss. The heartbreak is truly indescribable isn't it? I felt as though the whole word stopped when they told me my sons heart wasn't beating. I thought I'd let you know my beautiful boy was still born too.. On the 27/07/17. Just one day before yours. I was induced 2 days before he was born. At the time, I honestly thought I was the only one going through such pain and misery. I thought surely no one else could ever possibly understand my pain.. You would have been going through the same emotions, at the exact same time.. I find that crazy for some reason, and somehow comforting to know I wasn't alone (even though i wouldn't wish this on anyone) I'm sure our boys are playing together up in heaven. Dealing with the grief has been a process, but each day gets a little better. I picture my boy as a tiny Angel. In each beautiful sunrise and sunset, in every pretty butterfly or happy moment in my life; I know that's him. Sending you all my support xxx
