Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
But I just have to keep reminding myself that 1. people just don't know how to handle themselves and some are just idiots! and 2. People are living in this blissful thought that everything will work out with their pregnancy, or their daughters, or their friends, etc. And that's how it should be. Unfortunately we know that's not the truth, but how wonderful to assume that nothing will go wrong. I was like that with my baby - everything went so well the whole time so I never thought that anything would go wrong, especially at the end.
But I've also realized that it's a GOOD thing that so many people don't know what to do around people like us or are excited about being pregnant or having someone close to them pregnant. If more people were like us it would be even more of a tragedy. And we have to remember that as terrible as it is, it still is not the norm. The majority of people can and will have normal, healthy deliveries and normal, healthy babies. And we want it to be like that as it will give us hope for our future rainbow babies. The fewer people in our situation, the better.
So hang in there - you did the right thing by venting to the people who do understand.
I hope you can talk with her, or that shes at least kind enough to stop doing it in front of you.
