I just have to vent and this is the only place that's safe for me.
My SIL whom I love dearly. And who has been very loving and supportive during the loss of my daughter Anna in June,...bought a baby doll for my 3 year-old daughter for Christmas. Really?!?! A baby doll?!?! And you wouldn't even believe this,..but it's one of those "Baby So Real" dolls. Are you kidding me?? A baby doll that looks real?!?!
I mean,..this doll has weight to it. The features are realistic. It's as if I was just handed a real baby!!
I know she meant well. And she did it in the best interest of my 3 year-old daughter. But come on. I mean,..she completely missed the point of how hard this Christmas might be for me! And I really hate to "type" this out loud, but again, this is the only place I feel like I can say these kinds of things. So,...this baby doll has some kind of purple hue to the skin color. Almost like the color of skin that Anna had. Because she was dead!! Honestly..I think there is something wrong with this baby doll.
But either way,..my SIL didn't notice that she was purple! And that her skin tone looked just a little bit like Anna?!!
Sorry to be so angry. I am so emotional right now. I just want to scream.
Do people just NOT get it?!?!

Thanks for listening. I hope the past few days went as best they could for everyone.
On a lighter note,..I was able to visit Anna's grave yesterday despite all the snow we got in MA. And someone left an angel there and it was beautiful. Touched my heart.

All I can say is I am sure she wasn't thinking when she bought it for Ava. She probably thought it was cute and that Ava would love it.
You're right. People DO NOT get it! Although they know what happened to our babies, I think they forget who they are talking to because they are so comfortable with us. They don't realize if they are being insensitive.

I would be upset about the doll too, that had to be very hard for you. I'm sure she had no intention of causing you pain, people who haven't been through this don't really think about stuff the same way we do.
On a different note, I am sure it brought a smile to you to find the angel left for Anna.What a wondeful sign to see when you walked up.
I rarely post here...but often read. After receiving that doll for Christmas, I really had no where else to vent and share my feelings.
It's nice that you are all here for me and each other,..and all understand.
