This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. I have been thinking all day about how I never asked God for a miracle. When they told me she did not have a heartbeat, I never prayed for a miracle. I never asked him to take me instead. I was so in shock that I was numb. I couldn't even cry at first. I was hysterical and cried out, but I couldn't even cry at first. I think I am still in shock although crying comes very easily and frequently now. I feel like I let her down. In the little time I got to be her mother, I let her down. One of my first thoughts was how I was going to tell my daughter that the baby sister she so eagerly awaited died. Did I worry more for her than for my Gemma? I spent so much time planning on how I would shower Gemma with love when she got here. I never got that chance. I pray she knows how much she was loved, even though I did it all wrong. Even though I got to spend time with her, I wished I would have spent more. I forgot to kiss her nose before they took her...I always kiss my daughter and son on the nose. I feel so guilty.
I also have my 3 years old daughter who was eagerly waiting for baby and experience terrible days instead. She was asking about his baby brother to come almost everyday and with every single question I was devastated.

my health visitor told me 'of course your baby knew she was loved, you caressed and poked your tummy every day and spoke to her all the time, she could feel your love'.
