2 years ago today I felt my beautiful baby girl Chloe move for the last time...
She was delivered on February 25th. She was born with her cord full of blood clots and wrapped tightly around her neck.
Some days it feels like it was yesterday. I will never forget the feeling of her warm skin or seeing her perfect little body as I held her for the short time I had with her. I was so unprepared, we didnt take pictures or fingerprints and I regret that to this day. We chose to cremate her and had a little funeral reception with close friends and family. We scattered half her ashes in the ocean in my home town and the other half in the mountains where we currently live.
I come back here every so often and get so sad when I read new stories of loss. I can say this was the most marking moment of my life. Losing a baby is something we never get over. We do learn to live with it and the sharpness of the pain does lessen, but I think about her EVERY SINGLE day. She now has a baby sister who is about to turn 1. I am so blessed for this rainbow that has come into our lives and have never once felt that she replaced Chloe - physically she even looks so different.
I think the hardest part is that most people (except our family) kind of forget about her. I get that people probably think that weve moved on, and now that there is another baby we dont feel the pain anymore. There is also such a taboo about stillbirth. Most people dont recognize that Chloe is my first child, that I have 2 children (but only 1 living).
I just felt the need to share this story so she continues to be remembered. Thanks for reading :)

Thank you for sharing your story... For me it will be 9 months since I lost my first born son Eli. I miss him everyday. I have my good days and have many bad days..... This group has helped me so much... When I lost Eli.... I also lost friends..... because they didn't want to me sad.... they didn't know what to say... Since a lost of a baby is very painful for anybody to handle.
