My husband and I lost our son, Braedyn, on October 12, 2010 at 28 weeks. We gave it a few months and just really felt like we were ready to start trying again. We want to be parents so bad. We don't have any living children, we've been married for almost 4 years and just REALLY want a family. I have PCOS so I get 2 to 3 periods a year so obviously I have a hard time getting pregnant. It took us 2 1/2 years to get pregnant with Braedyn. Well I want and saw my doctor to discuss options and she gave me 2 pills. One to get my period and I did and another to help me ovulate. The 2nd medicine makes me feel like crap ALL day. And its so frustrating. I'm in the bathroom all day and I feel sick to my stomach all day. And it just makes me so freakin angry! This is NOT where I'm supposed to be right now. I'm supposed to be taking care of my son. Not trying to get pregnant again. And not having to take this pill that makes me feel horrible. I just hope and pray that its worth it. And I have no where else to go; nobody else understands. Thanks for listening...

I am sorry you are feeling so sick. I can understand you feeling so angry and frustrated. I hope things settle down for you soon.

I also have PCOS and am on Metformin 1500mg a day. I wasnt on anything when I concieved Jacob but it also took 5 years. Now the Metformin is suppose to regulate my cycles and make it easier to get pregnant. It is a horrible journey for all of us that really want a baby! HUGS

Metformin is what I'm on as well. It makes me feel horrible! Are you having really bad side effects with it?

I was given metformin and clomid. I decided not to take the metformin but I did take the clomid and it was terrible. I felt like a basket case for weeks and hated it. I was a witch to everyone and one night threw my dinner at my husband! I will say it was worth it. After four years of trying, I was finally pregnant. I only wish I still had my daughter. My fear has been how long until I can get pregnant again. "this sucks" pretty much sums up all of our situations.

I also have PCOS and I got pregnant on metformin. Yes, metformin can make you feel horrible, but you must remember to take it with food. Sometimes it helps if you cut the dose in half and let your body get used to it for about a week and then go to the full dose. I was on and am now on 1000mg a day. I am so sorry for your loss. I know what it's like wanting a baby so badly. My husband and I tried for 5 years and nothing happened. Then I found out I had PCOS and that was why I never got pregnant. I lost my first born, Mary Grace in February of this year. We are also trying again, and hope metformin works again for us. Take care and I hope you feel better soon!

I don't have PCOS, but I completely understand. I took my husband and I almost three years to get pregnant with the twins (I was so excited because it seemed like fate was telling us all the months of trying were worth it). When they were stillborn, I just didn't understand (and still don't) why fate would be so unkind. I don't have any living children either.
Since I'm almost 40, my doctor basically told us that we don't have another three years, and we should seriously consider IVF if we want to get pregnant again soon. I just keep going back to the fact that it is so completely unfair for all of us to have to make these decisions. Like you, I keep thinking that I should be going crazy trying to keep up with my son and daughter right now, not considering how to come up with $16k to try and get pregnant again.

I have PCOS and got pregnant on Metformin, too. The doctors took me off it immediately when I found out I was pregnant (a surprise). I'm single and although no one can replace my son, Luke, I wish I had someone to try again with. I'm sorry you are feeling unwell. I was that way with the regular Metformin, but now I'm on the extended release version and it's not so bad. Have you tried that?

I do not suffer from PCOS but I have a best friend who does. She was on Metformin and Clomid for the last 7-8 months I believe and I know she also felt like crap all the time. She has been ttc for over 3 years now without success ... My heart aches for her and her husband. I can not imagine having trouble concieving and then to lose your baby. I hope you are able to keep hope and faith alive and get yourself over this hurdle. I'm sorry you are feeling so sick and yucky. I hope you get pregnant soon and then you can hopefully feel a bit better!!

I also have PCOS, I was on Metformin for 3months and it did not help me conceive and I was sick all the time. I fpund that I also have a leuteal phase defect. So I charted my temps for months and when I saw that I had ovulatee, I would start using progesterone cream to keep the pregnancy. It worked in two cycles with both my full term babies. It just sucks that after all that work and being so successful keeping him in ther, he passed away just a few hours before he was born, at 41 weeks. So maybe talk to your doctor about seeing if there is something else that could be happening as well.

I do not have PCOS but a very dear friend of mine does...she had a terrible time ttc and had a couple miscarriages but once she went on the medicine she was able to have 2 healthy babies. She just had her son this past January...I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. I will be praying that you won't be so sick! It is so unfair! You should be with Braedyn right now instead of going through this...it's so hard to face this new reality without our children...praying for peace for you...sending you lots of love & hugs!

I don't have PCOS but I understand what you are going through. My periods were irregular. I would bleed sometimes 6 months on 6 months off. It was horrible. The first time I got pregnant was in June 2008 and I had a miscarriage. I didn't get pregnant again until 2 years later, that is when Stann was born still.

I say all this because who knows why God puts us through what we go through. I hate to hear that you are sick all the time. I know this is frustrating. Hang in there. I want you to know that you are not alone. I will keep you in my prayers, when prayers go up, blessings come down.

i too have PCOS, before i had my first son i had to take metformin, which was horrible.
they have told me that i am going to get PCOS again unless i change my diet for good, as the diabetic tests came back showing i have a bad tolerance to glucose but im not diabtic..... yet. ( probably from eating badly in the past). so im now on the GI diet for the rest of my life, and hoping that will help stop PCOS coming back by stopping my hormone levels going wonky again. ( ie, i had too much testosterone in my system which is one of the causes of PCOS).
So, have a chat with your doctor and see if you can control it by diet instead of pills, as you say the pills make you feel so ill. worth an ask xxxx
