Step Families Support Group
Traditionally, a stepfamily is the family one acquires when a parent enters a new marriage, whether the parent was widowed or divorced. This community is focused on many of the relationships and issues that may arise within stepfamilies where you may find answers from some members and you may help other members with their questions.
I will try to keep this brief. Met my fiance 4 years ago and at first he moved in with me and my kids. Everything was great. Then he suggested I move in with him since he had a mortgage and I rented. I was worried about moving in with his two grown boys (20+ and pregnant girlfriend). And I should've been it was horrible. Got into it a coule times with the girlfriend and dealt the messes they left everywhere and cooking for all of them.
My kids struggled too but they were 5 and 12 they were forced by me to be respectful.
So two years later they all move out. Ahhh I can breath. For awhile everything was okay. The bad part is we all work together, me, my fiance and his two boys. Within the last month they quit talking to me and its affecting work. You can cut tension with a knife. I don't know what I did? I'm so confused. They told their dad he must have a prenup. I get the idea and I understand why they would say that. But I had left a well paying career to run his business. I make no money now only supported by him(which I hate). So I am supposed work for him at his business keeping his house clean and if something happens to our marriage I will be homeless, and jobless?
I just had never thought about it. I don't know what to do about them not talking to me. Only when they are forced. And they are not rude when they talk just ignoring me all the time. The girlfriend is always putting rude things on facebook.
I just don't know what to do. Prenup? Marriage? My fiance absolutely does not want me to quit working with him. So I'm stuck? I just don't know....He thinks I shouldn't care about it because theyre grown. But what step parent doesn't want to be liked...or at least treated okay by their soon to be step kids. What if we have a small wedding and they don't show up. Or worse what if they do!!! Ahhhh.....

You were successful before you can be just as much now..Dont fear leaving just because you may be homeless and jobless fora while. Apply for some major companies like Pepsi, budweiser, coke, kraft..and you may end up with a far better future than even this guy would ever provide you. With the confidence you can do much better..
Problems with step children and once he has allowed patterns to go on dont change, rarely if they do ..The question is your short term brokeness of jobless and homeless may be an easier way out than dealing with children he will allow to disrespect you for a lifetime.
