Step Families Support Group
Traditionally, a stepfamily is the family one acquires when a parent enters a new marriage, whether the parent was widowed or divorced. This community is focused on many of the relationships and issues that may arise within stepfamilies where you may find answers from some members and you may help other members with their questions.
My stepkids are hurting so bad right now. Their bio mom hasn't seen them in almost 2 months. We put in a motion with the court to reduce her visitations legally since she hasn't been showing up and she's consistently missed holidays and visits, even leaving them after school with no ride.
A day after we put in the motion and got a court date we got an enforcement order stating she now has a warrant for not paying child support. We knew the warrant would eventually come out but karma must"ve wanted to step in. So now we are anxious to see if she even shows up to the hearing since she has a warrant. Which means it will be even longer now for her to get her life straight and come visit these kids.
the saddest thing I ever seen was this past christmas eve when the kids were waiting for her to come get them for christmas and an hour before her pick up time she cancelled...they haven't been the same since.
Im hoping for once the court does the right thing by these kids for once. I'm so tired of dealing with the tantrums and behavior issues that stems from them being abandoned.

Although, we as step parents, are not the real thing. They do need their Mom.

When I was growing up my dad left me when I was 6 years old and I never saw him again until I was an adult. I don't believe you always need your biological mum or dad just someone who loves you and cares for you. my step dad was more to me than my biological dad ever was, i believe a step partner is just as real.
