Step Families Support Group
Traditionally, a stepfamily is the family one acquires when a parent enters a new marriage, whether the parent was widowed or divorced. This community is focused on many of the relationships and issues that may arise within stepfamilies where you may find answers from some members and you may help other members with their questions.
And just stay around your family and SO and smile and ignore them.
I have been doing this with my stepchildren as well. I would almost not go to my hubby's family events, but then I know that would allow the kids to think they won by keeping me away....that's what they want. But, it's stressful. More people are seeing how bad the kids act toward me and how nice/respectful I am.
Prayers that it will not be too bad for you. Just take a deep breath and count to 10 in case you have to say anything.
Hugs!
So the next day was my son's bday party, and my fiance asks her if his grandson can go. She texts him back and says that there will too many kids there, and he could be lost. My fiance was really hurt.
We go to the party, come home, and sure enough she has blasted me or us or whoever on again! All of her family like it and commented that theres no way we could handle her kids. LOL As if I didn't have three of my own.
So after talking to some of my family about it....I have not defriended her but blocked her so I can't see anything on fb....and made it where she can't see anything of mine.
Short of family functions...there is only fb and it feels so good to let that go! As far as his boys I have totally taken the attitude that I haven't ever done anything wrong to them. Only ever tried to help them. So I have been talking to them, and things are a bit better around work. They have also said good bye to me before leaving. I'm no longer going to walk on eggshells or give a crap if they like me or not. I just don't care. It feels really good! Oh yeah and the daughter in law....just turned 21 in July and is now pregnant with number three.......
