Spouses of Transgender Community Group
Being transgender it's not easy but neither for their spouses. This group is created with the intention of helping and getting to know others that are in. the same situation or to just educate those that are on the other side of the fence and want to know how does it feel or how would it feel to be a spouse of a transgender person. The main objective of this group is...
Last night my husband told me that he has gender dysphoria and identifies more as a woman. He has been bottling this up for almost 15 years, we've been together for 7 and married for 4. We have a 3 year old son.
He's decided right now that although he feels he wants to transition, he's decided he's not going to. However, he is interested in starting hormones to see how it feels and if it's the right path.
I've spent most of the last 12 hours crying, or trying not to cry. I will always love him and support him, and I want to be with him. I'm not sure how well I will handle some of this...ok a lot of this...but I am going to try. This is very confusing, and I had absolutely NO idea he felt this way. I'm not ready to let go of him as him, and thankfully he wants us to work through this together. But this is all still so scary. How do you be supportive when you're not sure you can handle what changes will eventually lie ahead?
