Spouses of Transgender Community Group
Being transgender it's not easy but neither for their spouses. This group is created with the intention of helping and getting to know others that are in. the same situation or to just educate those that are on the other side of the fence and want to know how does it feel or how would it feel to be a spouse of a transgender person. The main objective of this group is...
Wow! That's a lot! I know sometimes we sound like a broken record, but are you and your spouse seeing individual and/or a couples therapist? I say that because 1) that's really concerning that your spouse was trying to take the double amount of T. Taking more T doesn't make the transition go faster. Your spouse needs to recognize that. 2) Your spouse is gonna have to get some coping/communication skills to deal with his higher libido.
I’m glad to “meet” you! I’m behind you in this process, so I’m not going to be able to give insight beyond what has already been said (therapy?).
My partner (of more than 20 years) recently told me that she’s trans and thinking of taking “T”. She’s been thinking about it for two years, but hadn’t said anything to me until last month. It was a huge shock to me, and very upsetting. I don’t want her to change. It’s been an intense few weeks, but things seem to be on hold right now.
I’ve also been feeling very alone. There are some support groups where I live, but they seem focused on how to support our trans partners rather than offering support to the non-trans partner. With so many transitioning ftm folks, I’m wondering, where is the support for lesbian partners? There must be a lot of us out there.
I hope things will get better for you soon! Is your partner going to decrease his T to the correct level? I hope things will even out for you. Take care, you deserve to be listened to and supported too.
