Ok friends, when i posted last night i was tired. I should have known that i am too much of a fighter to lay down my sword that quickly and easily. I just watched/listened to a video, that if you never read or listen to another thing on this topic, you must hear. Here is the link. It is profound and must be heard. Idk how, because my husband doesn't want to hear either, but if possible they need to hear this too.

Walt Heyer transitioned to and from, over 46 years and has a wealth of knowledge. His website is http://www.sexchangeregret.com/. Two of his books are titled: Gender, Lies and Suicide, and Paper Gender. I may come in and share my outline later, but no matter what, he encourages us not to become codependent and encourage this. That these people need strong people in their lives to tell them the hard things and help them find help. He talks about the things we've discussed, about if they wanted to chop of a limb we would get them help. He points out the dissociative nature of this illness and the need for them to get to the bottom of their dissociation with their true selves. He explains how this has been lumped in as an LGBTQ issue but it is not and how there is money behind this, which is why other similar disorders are treated appropriately and this one is not. Such a powerful, powerful interview. So glad i stumbled onto it.
Stay strong, Ladies. You do not have to go along with this. If your gut tells you this is wrong for your husband, it is. No one knows him better than you, and probably no one loves him more. If you have the energy stand and fight for him, if he will let you. My husband is furious at me. He has stopped transitioning for now, but he is being very insulting. I've told him I'm not going to tolerate this meanness very long, but am trying to give him a day or so to back off. He's sooooo angry. I am too. Choose your battles. That's what I'm trying to do. Brilliant resources I've provided here. Hope they help you families.
Oh well....I will delve more into his website and links within the next couple of days and see what I can find.
Essentially, though, my husband will have to find out for himself. No matter what it is a mistake, but he could go either way in admitting it. No one likes to be wrong and with this, it is especially difficult to swallow that pill...whoops, guess I really am not a girl.
I guess I feel like his motives and/or point of view are skewed because of the religious factor.
The larger part of the transgender community will discredit anything coming from a religious standpoint. Even if you are giving concrete evidence that transitioning is not the way to go, if you mention God, in any way, you are discredited.
I personally don't care what a person's beliefs are. I look for intelligence, kindness, and humor, oh, and common sense...there are a lot of people lacking in that department. You got all of that and you could worship an alligator god that demands human sacrifice for all I care.....okay, I would care, because, you know, I wouldn't want to be sacrificed like that.....anyway.....I digress.
