I think that is the only way I'll get my questions answered truthfully. plus he keeps harping about how he wants me by his side during his journey, then he behaves to the contrary

Yes. You could only have him explain in general terms.

It might sway your spouse's opinion that having the spouse along showing support apparently helps convince doctors to jump on board and expedite the process.

I found that going to the endocrinologist was really helpful. I actually didn't really ask any questions that were specific to my husband. The doctor will take a full physical of your spouse before dispensing medication. So, if your spouse gets the meds, they are pretty cleared.

That said, if you know your spouse has certain conditions, you could probably ask how certain meds effect it. Or, ask if they could direct you to any resources.

Ultimately, I found a lot of responses to be "the effect depends on the individual." Which, may not be very comforting, but at the same time, it's an answer and you have to figure out what your boundaries are.
