I get regular pedicures, now he gets regular pedicures - no big deal, except I get a nail design, he gets a nail design


I get waxed, he gets waxed


I consider botox, and suddenly tells me he needs it to "open up his eyes"

He has taken everything that was unique to me.

My spouse even started going to my hair dresser.

Fortunately, all of that was just temporary. She now has her own style and her own hair stylist.

The only part of mimicry that bothers me is that it makes me question my own identity. I told my spouse to borrow my fragrances and I meant it, but then after the fact, it felt confusing as they seemed so "me" but now I was smelling them on him. I sort of had an internal meltdown because of it and went and bought myself new fragrances and toiletries. I get why they need to do it as they learn what they like and don't like, but I think it is healthy to draw some boundaries before, or as soon as, it bothers you.

I have all of this beautiful and fun costume jewelry that I won't wear anymore since I found out he was wearing it.

Omg. I hate this part. It totally feeds my insecurity that my partner has always wanted to *be* (like) me rather than be with me. And don’t get me started on the fact that I learned about borrowing of clothes and undergarments. Sometimes it’s all too much.

I can relate to all of this mine says he wamts to be and look just like me he twlls me its because he is jealous of me being a girl. I feel like he is taking away all the things that are special to me and what makea me who i am i find myswlf being angry with him and wanting to tell him to find his own look and identity but i dont want to be mean.

I am going through this exact same thing. It took me 30+ years to find a style and what is "me". Now he likes all those same things! So wants to borrow my stuff or buy us each whatever it is. And I chopped all my hair off about two years ago and is now styling his hair very much like mine. It is so bothersome to me because now I feel like I have to change. But it shouldn't be me! I couldn't find a sweater the other day and grabbed one that looked like something I own out of the dryer. When I got to work and everyone was complimenting it I realized it was his. Thanks, it's my husbands....or wives (I'm not there yet with the pronouns and he accepts that). Ugh...
