He was at the airport and got singled out for a pat down when his bra clasp showed up on the scanner, ever since he had been super depressed and angry towards me.  I apparently wasn't supportive enough when he told me.  I wasn't there and was frankly shocked that he wore a bra in public.  I guess me saying, well you don't have to wear a bra was wrong, but seriously if he didn't want to be noticed, why did he take the risk

Funnily enough, airports is one place where my partner feels most comfortable in female mode - he travels a lot. He finds it easy to blend in with the crowd and be anonymous. I don't think he's ever been stopped or patted down, even when wearing a bra - which I know he has done.
Most airports have very strict standards about how to treat trans people too, so there shouldn't be any discrimination. Did your husband complain at the time? Was he embarrassed?

Was he presenting fem or was he just underdressing? If he was presenting as male and just underdressing, then it makes complete sense for security to investigate metal on his back since it is something that would be out of the ordinary . He was singled out, but not necessarily discriminated against - if that makes sense.

Perhaps a sports bra or other type of pull over bra with no metal would be a better choice for him in the future.

Like I tell me other half if you dont like the way people treat you or look at you when your dressed then maybe you shoukdnt dress. If he wants to dress like a female in public then he needs to be prepared for what people say, act or treat him. I dont think he deserves any special treatment. People stare and point at people who are differant all the time. Airports have strict standards on how to treat trans. Really well what about me I'm a middle aged white woman who has a boyfriend who wears womens clothes sometimes but cant say he is trans. Dies that mean I get special treatment no. I'm sorry but it's not just the teams that think they deserve special rules its every group.of people and they get them. The only. Ones that dont are the blue collar straight p white male/female Christian american. Sorry but that offended me god bless
