Spouses of Transgender Community Group
Being transgender it's not easy but neither for their spouses. This group is created with the intention of helping and getting to know others that are in. the same situation or to just educate those that are on the other side of the fence and want to know how does it feel or how would it feel to be a spouse of a transgender person. The main objective of this group is...
I have a thousand questions as to how you worked around certain issues, prepare yourself lol :-)
Wow, 35 days, that's so recent. I'm glad you're feeling positive about your progress so far!
Please feel free to ask away. I'm more than happy to provide as much insight and support as I can.
Welcome to the group. Many of us here, don't have success stories and are in a lot of pain. Learning that the person you love is Trans can be an overwhelming experience. Many members of this group are trying to figure out whether to stay in the marriage or to leave.
This is one of the few support groups I have found that focuses on and is for the non-Trans spouse's feelings and perspective. Most of what is out there is about supporting the person in Transition. This is needed, and our society is just in the first baby steps of understanding this community. However, as their spouses we are experiencing our own profound transitions as well, and deserve to have our experiences validated, our needs met and our feelings respected.
I encourage you to read through as many of the posts you can. There are many helpful stories. I have found that many posters will tell a story that I could have written myself. This is a good place to vent frustrations when the larger community may not understand what the spouse of a transgendered person experiences.
