I would like to extend a big welcome to all the new people who have joined the group. Over the last 18 months there have been many great articles posted with valuable information. Instead of bumping them all up, and pushing posts that need help down, I'll do a quick reference for you here.
I'm not even sure my circumstances fall into this category like I originally thought. The issues in my marriage were that if I didn't have sex as often and at the level he wanted (usually something he saw in porn) then I got to hear how we only had sex when we wanted & eventually argument went as far as I needed to find somebody else since i didn't want sex with him. I did all these things he wanted for years, whether I wanted to or not, to avoid confrontation & fights in front of children. I'm at a point now where I don't want to keep doing all those things I'm not comfortable with so now he tells me I'm taking everything from him just to test him. When this isn't an issue we're very, very good together and very much the happy couple. I stay confused????
Hi Curious - I am going to say that based on the information you give in your post that your H definitely has a problem with sx. An addiction is something that interferes with your life in some way, shape or form and addicts often try to control their partner by manipulating, placating and often lying to cover up the parts of their addiction they don't want to share with anyone (this is usually rooted in shame developed early on in their life.)
You can learn a lot right here on this site, and you will see reference to many books on this very subject. We are all very confused at first with this topic as this is often the last thing we think when we think addictions and many addicts themselves are baffled that they even have a problem. Just know that we are all very supportive here and any questions you have will be respectfully answered.
Hugs!
