I am wondering where your SA hid thier P or where you have found it.. I know there may be some men lurking around here so if you wanna send it to me privately, that would be fine..
I know he's hiding his P, and I just need some ideas...
Wish I could help on that one but H wasn't into that. If you want to find out go to google type in "how do I find my husbands porn on his PC". I found a number of answer to questions that were very simular. Good luck!..hug
I found my husband's chat files but not what they contained - just how many times and for how long he had chatted, and with whom. He said he had stopped and I was devastated to see how had had actually been chatting every day for hours at a time, even while he said he had stopped. Now the computer is off while I'm at work.
This is where the polygraph came in handy. My h was told to fully disclose all secretive behavior related to his addiction so here is the list as best as I can remember...
1) Kept a separate/secret credit card.
2) Kept a separate/secret email account.
3) Secret pager/cell.
4) all transactions and gifts were paid in cash.
5) always took shower after the act.
6) prostitutes and dancers not allowed to wear perfume.
7)strip clubs show up on credit cards as aliases.
8) he had a "handle" or alias name when in chat rooms.
9) sex chat rooms constantly keep patrons updated on ways of deceiving spouse/girlfriend
10) Not allowed to leave scratch marks or hickeys.
11) meet in hotel rooms through back door.
12) never use home computer.
13) prostitues are supposed to shave so no hair is left behind and any STDS "hopefully" are visible.
14) took his own drycleaning in so I wouldn't find any make-up rubbings.
15) kept tube of KY jelly in office dest drawer.
16) condoms in travel case.
My h not only used the computer, but i found hidden porn mags or dvds often. Here is a list of just the ones i found;
*under and behind his seat in his work utility
*under the bottom of his bottom drawer in his chest of drawers in bedroom (there is a gap between the drawers and the floor)
*in a box in the shed, under the painting drop sheets)
*behind an old non working toilet in the back of our storeroom at work, wrapped in bubblewrap.
*in the glovebox of his work utility, i once found photos of women he had stalked and took photos of their legs and butts, he taken with a cheap throw away camera.
He just wasn't smart enough to do the separate email or credit card stuff.
Years ago, I found my Hs porn mags hidden in the chicken pen. He knew that I didn't like to go inside, it was dirty, smelly and the roosters were aggressive. Nice huh? Afilthy, smelly, chicken pen. Very attractive? Never saw anymore after that for 17 years. Then, our 21-year old daughter came over to use our computer and he had left porn material on the reduced screen. Guess he forgot to exit totally out of all he had been viewing. Because my mother was gravely ill, my daughter didn't tell me until after my mother was better, and because he had been too cowardly to do it, three months later. My daughter and I went on the computer that day...and while we were searching for anything else he might have been up to, he sent a friend request to a porn star in germany....FROM WORK...on that computer....while we were on the computer. Ahhh, God does have his way! I searched our computer then, through the internet archives embedded history and found some of the sites he visited. He has no access to a computer at home now at all. To prevent him? Yes, and no. Mostly, to make me comfortable. I could gain access to his job computer and place a key-logger if I wanted to. I don't. I know this, it's worked for me reptitively; give a person enough rope, and they'll hang themselves. So, that's how I feel now too.
First time, I found DVDs mixed in a folder he kept on his desk. I've also found some on unmarked CDs, in the closet on the upper shelves and I suspect that he has stashed some in the garage at some point. As far as his computer-I don't know if this will work on all computers, but I went into My Computer, Local Disk C, Documents and Settings, then there should be folders for All users or new user or something like that, then I believe that the next folder was Macromedia player. I poked around in their and found media players for live sex sites, hardcore porn, wierd freaky stuff. Those can't be deleted (to the best of my knowledge) unless you go in and manually erase them. Registry cleaners and deleting temp internet files won't do it. Doesn't tell you everything, but the way I figure it, I don't want any details anymore. I have enough trouble getting the details I already know out of my head. Good luck. Don't drive yourself crazy looking! *HUGS*
My husband is tall and I'm short, so he seems to hide everything up high. On top of the kitchen cabinets, under placemats. On top of the bookshelves there was a space created by the facing, The top shelf of his closet, between sweaters he didn't wear. In the garage hidden in boxes of old junk. In a filing cabinet in plain manilla folders with things like "2002 taxes" on the label.
Thanks to everyone that shared their hiding places with me. Unhappily married, I have tried the path you gave weeks ago when someone else also told me to do that and the users filders was locked. It said I didn't have access, which I found odd. I am pretty sure he did something to lock me out, he tends to tell me he isn't computer savy but I am not stupid and I am good with computers and I think he does alot more of hiding things on teh computer than he thinks I knpw about.
SO KNOW, it is the time to test him.. I am going to once again ask him to take a lie detector.... The last time I asked (about a month ago), he wouldn't even talk to me for days, so I knew he was lying. He did admit to MB twice a week which is a bunch of crap.. So back to the drawing board... The lie detector conversation seems to get him hyped up and that in itself is enough to tell me he is not serious about recovery and is still hiding things from me...
I was off and home all last week and believe you me did my fair share of snooping.... Nothing, however he has a truck with a LOCKED tool box in the bed... I have seriously thought about looking in it while he is sleeping... BUT if I ask him to take a lie detector test and tell him that questions will be specific to hiding places and online P, he'll freak and come clean.. I know him.. Gotta play his game...
I'll never forget the first time I found my husband porn while we lived with my mom. He was working the 2nd shift and I was home playing with the cat, and the cat knock his toy under the bedstand i couldnt reach so I moved the bed stand... And surpise surpise, 100s of sheet of naked girls, then I started staring the house apart, magazing hidden in shoes he didnt wear, under our mattress, he rip a hole in the box sping of the bed had pictures in there, in the garage, and of couser on the computer.. Reguardless I was so mad I was waiting outsider in 20degree weather for him, asoon he got home, i threw the video tap at him and hit on the head with it, and started beating him with the magazines and pictures screaming at him. This was about 3am too, my mom and brother were in the house watching us fear if they came out I might beat them too.
My H didn't have to hide his porn, as he used it on his work Blackberry and his work laptop. He never used the home computer, and never bought mags.
The first time I discovered his use, ten years ago, I just kept asking him if something was wrong, because he wasn't acting like himself, and he would deny it, and then I just had the gut feeling to ask him if he was looking at Playboy or something. I was right.
The second time, four years ago, I found the files on my computer when I was looking for a recipe on my google history.
The third time, a year ago, after asking numerous times to which he would deny to my face, I decided a different tactic. I am not proud of it, but not ashamed of it either. I lied. I told him that I was thinking of looking at porn together to "spice things up," and what he thought of that. He was very quiet, so I asked him again, in the most sweetest way I could, and he said that maybe that would be fun. I then asked him if he had ever gone back to looking or to MB, and he minimized it by saying "not very often, " and after that I was able to find out what his favorite sites were and everything. He was like a kid getting all excited that he could finally get it all out, but I could tell he was also feeling guilty. Unfortunately, I got burned, because as I tried to go along with it and look at what he looked at with him, I got burned with images that I was not prepared to see, and they are forever in my head. Believe it or not, it took him about seven months after that to finally get all the truth out. He didn't tell me everything back then, even when I pretended to go along with it. Of course, a day after the fact, I started getting horribly depressed, and things didn't end up so well for a while. I was pregnant with our sixth. It was just too much for me to handle. That's a story for another day.
I don't know what to tell you. It sucks that you have to be here. Your instincts are probably dead on accurate, unfortunately. The funny thing is, my H was the one to help show my sister how to find her husbands "hidden" files on their computer years ago. Maybe you could fine someone to help you?
Just remember that he is desensitized to the porn, so it will seem a lot more shocking to you to see it, and be prepared to not forget what you may see. I don't remember specifics, thank God, but I do remember some of the scenarios and how the women looked, and what I didn't look like compared to them.
I think the best way to go, before snooping, is openly asking him before you do anything else. Get some therapy for yourself, and make sure your self esteem is in check. I wish I would have been in a waaay better place before I found out, even if it was killing me to know.
I think the scariest part of trying to clean all the porn stashes out of the cubbyholes is that you can't clean it all out.
Even if he was locked in an empty room with no outside stimulation, he can imagine it. Beating this addiction is about more than stopping the use of it, and it has to come from him because there's just no way to control his brain.
Thats a good point Grrlygirl. We spouses can clean, find, move, throw out all the porn, but unless they are ready to stop using it, they will just buy more, or use other avenues to get their 'high'.
