Dealing with your spouse not only having an affair but a child as a result and how it affects your day to day life and the lives of your children.
This is one of my journal entry's for the day. What's everyone's thoughts?
I'm kind of freaking out!!! I wrote a letter to the Dr. Phil show last week. Not thinking anything of it. More of a release, wondering IF I would get a response.
Today, I got a call FROM THE DR. PHIL SHOW. It was the senior producer. She read over my letter and wanted to know what I wanted from Dr. Phil and what I would be expecting out of it all. I was in such shock that I actually got a call that I couldn't think on the spot. I basically said that I just needed help coping with such a life changing experience. There isn't much out there for women in my situation and I wanted help and to bring light to this that we aren't all "trashy" who's the baby daddy kid of people that are on the Maury Povich show. This happens to real people, educated people in suburbia and we are deeply affected by it... it's not a joke and as the WIFE there isn't much we can do. The other woman (the whore) is rewarded and we are stuck with the burdens of it all.
She told me that I would have to be willing to appear on the show, as well as my husband and the other woman. If not on the show, at least talk to them for their side of the story. Which is understandable.... however, I am worried that the tables would turn me into the bad guy if they brought her into it. We all know she is CRA-ZY and would somehow manipulate the situation.
My husband said absolutely NO.... he would have nothing to do with the show. He doesn't see it helping in anyway. He also doesn't want friends, family and coworkers to know. (Of course we would have to tell them if we went) I understand because it's been such a secret in our lives... I do sometimes wonder if it would help to at least get it off our chests.
I'm so torn because I want a chance to hear what Dr.Phil would have to say to me... shead light on our situation and maybe help someone going through the same thing. Then agan, I also don't want to be made a fool in front of America. I'm afraid it may do more harm than good.
I wrote back declining to appear :/ I don't know how I feel about it. Just hoping I can find help in another way. It's been almost 3 years and I'm still very alone and stuck in this mess. I don't have the support I need and I push so many emotions to the back burner. My husband isn't supportive in finding me any help. I was seriously hoping he would at least hear me out on this opportunity to be on the show. Instead I got a HELL NO. :/
I guess I will continue doing what I'm doing.... living day by day. Dreaming and hoping that time truly does heal all wounds.

Even if we were open about our situation, I wouldn't be able to stomach going onto the show. H and I have been together since I was 16. My family loves him so much. I'm terrified of them finding out, because a betrayal to me would also feel like he was betraying them as well. I don't want my husband to be judged by anyone but God.
And yet, it would be so huge for someone to go onto the show and put out there the pain and anguish we and our children suffer. The side nobody considers or seems to care for.
Like Torn said, though, a majority of women find it too painful to put out there. =(
