This is for any one that has found themselves in the long wait for Soicial Security. Any one that has gone through this process or is in the middle of it. Venting is allowed.
Back when I applied for SS disability, I actually got approved in two months after I first applied. But I think that is because I sacred the crap out of the shrink they sent me to when he interviewed me to see if I was mentally disabled and unable to work.
I have a friend who fought for almost 5 years to get hers and finally after getting a lawyer she was approved. I do not know why the process is so hit or miss. It needs some severe overhauling. Actually after fighting the whole system to get help for my friend, the whole disabled, homeless, mentally ill help system needs to be redone.

My guess is that in my case it was the number of diagnosises I have. I have 23 seperate medical problems and 35 treating doctors.
I have heard that having many things wrong with you brings an easier approval than having one serious thing wrong with you. Its as if they think there is a better chance of someone recovering from one thing than there is 23 seperate things. That's just my guess. My first review is scheduled for 7 years so they know my disabilities are not temporary.
