Hi~ do you have an attorney to help you? That seems to be an important item on their checklist: whether or not the claimant needs professional help. Although we don't like to talk about applying for disability for our friends, perhaps you can get a recommendation from your county office. Attorneys who go through this process are very helpful and well worth their money.

I think it's something like 60% more likely to get approved with an attorney then without one, it's BS but still...my judge didn't even speak to my lawyer...they asked about my disability..injuries...etc, daily life with it.
how my meds made me feel, and asked if I had anything to add. That was it..then he talked to the Vocational person. It was really quick.

I have an attorney. I'm just nervous what the judge might ask me.

I'll say a prayer for you. Anxiety is a terrible way to live and I truly have been there. We battled with my husband's disability from 5/2001 to 8/2007, and that was a long time to be under stress. We lost our home and my business.

your attorney should go through the possible question with you but, they were like I said and I was told then can range from what your daily life is like and how it has changed to what your life used to be like...what docs have told you etc ...I didn't have much of that.

The ALJ I had in my last continuing disability review asked me about my condition & how I feel about working, if I felt that I was able to work.

Good God Oak, I cant imagine losing a home & business waiting for ss disability. If I dont win my appeals this time around we will more than likely lose our home, its heartwrenching dealing with ss.
And where are the jobs for disabled people if we were forced to fend for ourselves?, the normies cant even find work right now.

You are so right, mishaC, about the normies not being able to find work. When I was a therapy aide, I knew a man my age with a heart condition living in a nursing home and HE was rejected by SSD the first application. I do think that he has it by now and lives in a home setting now. He lost his house to the nursing home as well. I think one reason that I did get it on my 2nd go-around because my SSD "measurement" by the SSD drs was 75 the first time and only 55 the 2nd time. That's very scary though because I am declining rapidily. The other day I was on a heat pad and thought I turned it off. I was about to double check it when I had a white-out. When I came to, the pad had been turned on high and almost burned my whole back and our new double high air mattress-the only kind that my husband's allergies can tolerate.

I went to my hearing today. I was very nervous. Well I don't know the result yet. My attorney said I have a 50-50 chance. He said the judge could go one way or another. I will have to keep my fingers cross and pray.

This is the hard part (again): waiting and hoping. How are you feeling? Are you able to get outside and walk a bit now and then?

I'm volunteering at Professional Business Services as a Data Entry Clerk. It is hard to sit and wait for the results but I guess I don't have any choice but to wait. This sucks. lol
