You will eventually find the way out of this horrible addiction as long as you keep trying.
Try to learn from falling off the wagon. Try to find some sort of habit that is healthy and as satisfying as smoking to replace it.
Know that stress and triggers are part of life and that there are healthier and better ways to deal with it. Tell yourself that smoking to deal with stress or whatever is NOT an option. It will take time to make the new habit fit.....so give it time and perhaps keep trying different approaches......gum, sugar free candy, the patch, meds prescribed by your health care provider....etc.
More importantly.....ask yourself what would happen if you chose NOT to smoke when triggered or an urge came along. If you will not die from giving in....then sit with the feelings, cry, scream, go for a brisk walk or exercise to rid yourself of the anger/frustration...or whatever feeling(s) it brings up.
Know that the feelings will indeed pass and so will the urges (I hear they last about 5 minutes).
