The CDC claims that nicotine is a "very addictive drug" that can be "as addictive as heroin or cocaine." Smoking isn't helping anything though.
Believe it or not it's just adding to the stress.
Once you quit for a few weeks you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
Hurry up and quit.
Roll call and pledge helped me.
See you there!!!!
Like all substances that enter the body, nicotine must metabolize to exit the system. If you do anything to help increase your metabolism, it will help clear out both nicotine and cotinine from your system.
Since nicotine is water soluble, drinking plenty of water will also help flush it out from your system. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water per day is a great way to naturally clear your system of toxins.
Nicotine destroys vitamin C. By taking a vitamin C supplement you will increase your bodys metabolism and replenish this needed nutrient. Vitamin C is also high in antioxidants which will help metabolize the drugs in your body. Hence it will help remove the nicotine from your system.
Quit tobacco right now, though it is easier said than done. Only quitting tobacco completely can the nicotine get out of your system completely. Many people that quit have tried quitting several times before they successfully quit. There are many ways to give up although the most effective thing will be your determination.
That being said...once the nicotine is gone the rest is up to you......It's almost a mind game.

you can do it.
Quitting is the best thing you can do for yourself (first) and your family (second). I was unable to use Chantix because of side effects, but many on here have used it. I used Wellbutrin and it helped. But what helped the most s this site. I came here and read and re read and then read some more. I finally decided if they could I could and I did. That was exactly 6 years and one month (and believe it or not the hours and the minutes a line right now to make it exactly that). (Feb 8, 2010 at 7:30 AM).
You can do this. I promise it is doable!
As Joe said see ya at the Roll Call and Pledge. The are great tools. Use them. They too help to keep you accountable and accounted for. We are here to help. I have faith in you. You can do this. There is some good reading in the good post section. you may have to ask someone else how to find it but it is worth it.

For me was realising whatever the consequences of smoking it was something I did to myself.
Coming here every day its a most. I quit several years ago, can't remember when because i stopped and haven't smoked again. I still have occasional cravings but I'm strong enough to refuse.
Have you read Allan Carr's easy way to quit smoking? I think it's a very important book. I couldn't have quit without it. And don't worry, you can smoke all the way through as much as you like. Just read it at your own pace. See if it helps you at all.
