ugh...that flu scares me!!! i am allergic to the flu shot!!!!! dont we have to call it the H1N1 flu now? when i saw it on the news earlier, they had it printed like this: HlNl....looked like hiney flu. ive been giggling about that all day.

When my daughter graduated this past Saturday they eliminated all hand shaking and had purell hand sanitizer machines in the auditoium! Only thing missing were the masks..

OMG!! what a drab graduation, huh? better safe than sorry though. they sent a note home from school reminding parents and students about flu/virus prevention. it included a list of when to wash your hands, etc. but they dont set aside a time for the kids to wash their hands before eating lunch!!!! SERIOUSLY??? ps...my birdie just started singing out my window again:)

I went to our drugstore on Friday to buy some sanitizer, they were sold out!!! Anyone got some extra?...lol

I usually try to stay away from controversial topics.I can't help to reply to this one.I really don't think this is a place for racist jokes.What bothers me about it is if a newcomer comes here looking for help and reads something like this they may be offended and never return for the help they need.What else can I say?This sucks

well we can be like egypt and kill all the pigs but I dont think that will keep the flu away...funny there are shots for the pigs but not for us...first the bird flu, now pig....who is next...the dog, or cat...ugh

just do good hand washing I guess...antibacteria soap is as good as the sanitizer ...hugs

I have the greatest sense of humor and have a mouth like a sailor but I keep that in my real life. After I read your post my first thought was....I know you are just joking but do you realize what you are saying and who you possibly are offending.....I have to agree with Louis G. This is a positive support group and I know you are joking around and I am assuming from your comment you are a republican. Really dont care if you are or not. I can tell you my child has been sick and I have been worried to death about whether or not she is just sick or if its worse. And I do care about fact that I have talked up this support group to my aunt about how great it is and tonight she was going to go on it. We are a mixed family. I doubt if she read your posting she will not join the group.

Although I can understand how some people might have taken that joke, I think the whole point is not the colour of the President's skin but a play on words.

Pigs fly - Swine flu (sounds like Swine - ie pigs flew)

In the UK, this would not be considered a racist joke and I am sure Viv did not mean it as such.

I don't think Viv is a Republican as he lives in Wales so would probably not have feelings either way.

i take it to mean...no body thought they would see the day we have a black president...i dont think it was a racial comment...it actually is history that happened...100 days after he came in the swine flu came out..it was a joke...but I dont think it was racial...i am an american and actually find it amusing...what is a man name jack hog became president that would make a comment too...i think after the president viv should have put .....marks...so you would know he was not calling the president a pig...i read it that way the 1st time...I had to read it a bunch of times to get it...

For a grown man not to respect EVERYONES feelings in a public forum such as DS is rude and disrespectful. Why not start a sub group for your unusual sense of humour. I left this group because of this and only check in to read encouraging posts and to stay in touch with friends. I like LouisG has said so gently, think this needs to stop.

I was going away from DS for awhile Because a certain people! BUT DANG!I too had to respond, it is not a racist joke, it went around all cell phones and I sent it to my black friends....It was a good clean joke VIV, !
