I have noticed over the last 9 months how stopping smoking has changed me in more ways than one. To be honest when going shopping if I liked the look of something I bought it, I didn't consider if it was a healthy type of food but now I do. Exercise was something that was done by the young or the mad, so I guess I have gone mad, now I exercise I even bought a cross trainer only used it once though, I haven't been able to walk since lol, I misunderstood the instructions when it said to warm up for 10 minutes before starting I sat in front of the fire. Seriously though I now have a respect for my body, and since stopping smoking I want to look after it to the best of my ability. Viv

I think you're so right Viv- and great way to put it- we have a new found respect for our bodies....

And yes when I painted my house, I fainted. The can said to use 2 coats- and I wore two heavy jackets while I painted- they should have been more specific.....

Sounds like you are heading in the right direction. I think not smoking is a massive decision and with it comes a change in mentation. A friend of mine was over yesterday and he has been quit for over 3 months and was talking about joining a rec center and I have been riding my bike several times a day. I also notice that I am able to take deep breaths and it feels great.

Good for you. Way to go. I think once we quit smoking we do care a lot more about our bodies.
We engage in more healthful activities and probably
do eat more nutritious food. LOL at your warming

ahahaha (chuckles) yes I've most certainly become more aware of what I do with put in ect in regards to my body...it's all good! I love being a quitter, QUITTERS ARE WINNERS!!!!!!!!

I too, have been eating a much more well balanced diet since I quit smoking. I eat alot more fruits and veggies now.

You guys are a riot!! I'm glad you brought this subject up, Viv, because the same thing happened to me! I don't know if it's the Chantix or the not smoking, but I am no longer craving Hershey's chocolate, salt and vinegar potato chips and all the other crap I used to eat. I always did eat a lot of fruits and vegetables too, but now I crave them! I even bought and love raw unsalted sunflower seeds which someone on this site recommended.

Today I rewarded myself by going on a 5 mile bike ride. I am half way to where I was 36 years ago before I starting smoking when I rode 10 miles a day. I also rented a movie!! Hope you guys have a wonderful day!

Forerica. After using the 2 coats did you "screw cap on tightly". That would certainly give you a headache.

That's right viv, I agree. I have started drinking more green tea instead of soda. And I've NEVER drank green tea until the past week. I also bought carrots, celery, broccoli, oranges, and bananas the other day at the grocery. That is so unlike me ... but I want to be healthy now.

Thanks Viv...you are so right...i am walking almost daily, when its not raining and eating lots of fruits and veggies...I take carrots and celery in the car with me along with H2O....Forerica...2 funny....i just painted family room without 2 coats....lol

im sorry, i didnt mean to offend, and i havent seen your videos yet..ive only known the sight for 4 days. i guess its the same as you would never know that i dont have a southern accent, even though i live in the south. i have an ozark's accent...i just have been finding it so interesting that there are people here from all over the world. its amazing to me that so many people from all over can come together for a common goal. again, sorry if i offended.

I am sorry if you think you offended me, let me assure you I am very proud to be British. I have looked at the map and sometimes I am amazed that such a little Island at one time controlled most of the world including America my dear cousin, i.e. The British Empire, because we are 4 countries in one the beautiful land of Wales is missed by many. Wales introduced the smoking ban in public places before England, and where did Tobacco come from America. So going back to the start you didn't offended me it was said tongue in cheek, best of luck on your quit, because the freedom you get is even better than the Boston tea party. Viv
