Now is the time, from what I understand chronic bronchitis are the beginning signs of COPD. Have you been to a Pulmonary Dr. to get checked out? It is important to get your pneumonia and flu shots.
You can do this I too got sick August 1st and I am just now starting to feel somewhat better. I am so tired of coughing all the time and not being able to breathe. I have severe emphysema and do not wish this disease on anyone.
You can quit and I will be your buddy. Take one day at a time. Pick a quit date and stick to it. You will be anxious the first couple of weeks. I take xanax for anxiety and it helps. I quit 18 days ago and its getting easier. I use the lozenges and gum. I used Chantix but it wasn't for me. Alot of people have had success with Chantix. Do what ever is best for you. Smoking is a choice, but I can't think of one good thing is does for you. The addiction tries to tell you if helps with anxiety but it really doesn't. There are other ways to relieve stress. I worked many years in the health care field and that alone is stressful. Stay here and support is the best way to quit. Come on do the daily pledge not to smoke and roll call. The people on Daily Strength are supportive and offer so much information. Read some of the older posts and you can do this. Here's my hand in support and strength to get through this.
You can and must to feel better. Smoking kills. So those nasty butts are not your friend.
Good luck to you and come back...............

I think you will find your quit buddies on here, debi has already offered.
I would not have made it thru these last 6 days without this group. Just come on here everyday and they are here for you:)
You can do it.

I'm quitting because of an ear infection ... likely brought on by an upper respiratory infection I ignored...that won't go away after over a month, 2 oral antibiotic treatments and one ear drop.
I am on 12 hours, 25, min, and 32 sec of not smoking. I took the pledge this morning.
it really is the best thing you can do for yourself and don't you deserve the best?
