You may or may not know me, but my name is Jesse and I work here at DailyStrength. I'm writing to let you know that we're looking to add a Community Leader to the Smoking Addiction & Recovery Support Group -- so we'd like to know if you want to become one!
In case you're not already familiar with what Community Leaders do, they're vibrant members who volunteer to greet new folks to the group, offer positive and constructive advice in discussion posts, and help steer negative topics back on track (and occasionally close a clearly abusive discussion post, which is very rare in this group). If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a volunteer CL, please send me a private message with the subject heading of "CL for Smoking Addiction & Recovery". DS staff will then review the candidates.
To be considered for the role of a CL, we'd like to ask that you:
1. Be okay with having a profile privacy setting of either "Everybody" or "DS Members". That way new members can greet you back!
2. Have not received prior warnings from DS for violations of the Rules of the Road.
3. Have been an active member of the Smoking Addiction & Recovery support group for at least six months.
I'll leave this post up for a few days, and I might bump it up every once and a while so it stays on the main page.

(for the record...I know this is not an election type post, she would have to ask for this on her own behalf, but I just think she needs a little shove to the door way)
Mayberrydeb, i think you would make a fine CL. I am sorry that someone has made you feel otherwise. I have never seen you or anyone else take over the group. I have seen you be supportive; you are one of the first to welcome new members and you always seem to know when to send the support hugs during our struggles.
Anytime you get a group of people together either physically or in this case, virtually, there are people you get along with, people you don't, and people that just have a need to cause a little drama and controversy. remember what i told you. You can't please all the people all the time so why bother agonizing over someone else's expectations? The only person you have to please is yourself. You keep doing what you are doing.

I hope you did not take offense to me saying grannie would be a good leader. I had just read what you wrote, and you said you didn't think you could do it so...I was just suggesting someone just as amazing as you are.
