Drink lots of water and sensible snacks..sesame sunflower and pumpkin seeds. If you crave something sweet use fruit or pure fruit juice and some exercise works wonders really occupies the mind and gets it on another track.
It is the mindset that is most important. You have to really really want to quit and have a positive mindset.
knowledge is also power. whyquit.com and Allen Carr's book is great. If you google allen carr, you can download it.
Other side is I have actually asked for help. It is difficult for me to admit to weakness, but I am following the advice to a "t". Find an accountability partner, write down the reasons why you are quitting. Post those reasons places to remind you when times get tough.
I also have a liter of water with me at all times. I have further "accountability" partners in this group. It really does help.
That is coming from a person who is now on my 10th day and it is going well!
