You smoked for years. Don't expect to recover from this addiction in a few weeks or months. Likely something you may or may not be able to identify has occured that triggered these feelings; something that hasn't happened since you quit. These things will happen through life, but they will become less and less frequent. Each time you get past one without a smoke, you weaken or destroy that link between the event and smoking.
What you are experiencing is temporary and it is doing you NO HARM! Stay strong, don't smoke, and extreme progress will be made in your quit.

Try inhaling deep and slowly thru a cut straw. It always worked for me.

Anyway--I also do things like browse the aisles at Costco (across the street from my work) to distract myself.
I like to smell things like candles, baked goods.....remind me of the beauty in the senses.
tHEY YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR SEEINNG ME THRU THIS. I have surely felt the love and the support. I can happily say that the urges have passed. Thank you all so very much....
