After I quit smoking and I felt confident to quit taking chantix I went to quarter of a dose and then a quarter every other day to wean myself. It worked that way for me.

I had to go to the ER on the third day. It gave me awful anxiety and panic attacks. I threw the meds AND the cigarettes away. I felt like I was having a stroke and or a heart attack.
I went cold turkey and am now in my 3rd year quit.
If I had known the side effects would hit me like that......IDK......I would probably still be smoking.
