Reason People are not joining

This is interesting, you are giving a place to discuss issues and resources to help start a business but no one is here.
I want to learn how to move my ideas to a possible business, but understandably people are shying away.
The current economic issue is causing much fear.
It is the fear of another recession is deterring people and forcing them to wait.
Is it not wise though to get in now, then see how it plays out?


Everyone think that employment is returning, but it is going to be a very slow process.
That is why I want a business and I hope that I will be able to help others start their own.

Started one a long time ago, still have it, it is NOT EASY to do and stressful too. BUT it is an option in these economic times. Glad to share here.

I run my own driving school...single employee...ME! I do it all...advertising, sales, teaching and car maintenance which is today's issue...two new tires for car going on today...then 4wheel alignment....but the income is great at $47.50p/hr X 2hr min lessons....so everytime I go to teach I get $95 income minus expenses like gasoline, insurance and car maintenance....and advertising costs too...

One of my biggest problems is that my wife does not entirely understand that as a self-employed consultant I DO NOT HAVE CONTROL over when I am paid. Sometimes fast, other times slow. It is not a paycheck on the 15th and 30th lifestyle at all.

well we have hit a snag of no discussions....

I will start one...if having employees do you know you have to pay into the state for Unemployment insurance? yep...each state has its own rules on this but you gotta pay for percentage of each employees pay up to a top amount per employee....which keeps me from having desires to hire employees...

I know this because at one point I worked in Unemployment insurance services that fought for the employer not to have to pay unemployment to workers....it was very informative to keep me for the short time they did...I learned alot in my ten days or so that they let me work there....hugs bill
