Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. People with sleep apnea partially awaken as they struggle to breathe, but in the morning they may not be aware of sleep disturbances.
When I went for my sleep study. I had all sorts of sensors and tubes hooked up monitoring and videotaping my sleep behavior for the night. A month or so went by and my curiosity got the better of me and I called the sleep center office to request a copy of the video. I even offered to pay for the copy if they'd make me one. I was shocked when they told me that NO ONE else had ever asked for one. I'm curious if anyone here has ever actually seen the video results of their study. Thanks

hi there..i have not...in fact, up until now, i didnt even think about it...it would be interesting to see, thats for sure. did your seep center give you a copy of yours?

Solo60, I didn't think of it either, I would be surprised if they did but anything is possible. It may be boring watching ourselves for 8 hours or so unless we can fast forward it.

Thought never occurred to me either. LOL I did ask and receive the written results of my sleep test.

That would be interesting to see the video. i think I will get a copy of the sleep study written part. I wonder if they charge a person for the copy. Money is very very tight with me so its hard but I will see it on March 1 when I have my appointment.

SamLovesRats, I believe most places, if not all, do charge for the written results. I can't remember as it's been about 2 years, but I think I paid about $25.00 dollars for mine.

Sam, a couple of suggestions, write down any questions you have for them before you go, it can get difficult trying to remembering everything on the day. If youhave to pay for it don't get it, it should be something you get given. The most important numbers you need to know are what pressure or pressures your machine is set at and what you AHI was at the sleep study. We can help you track your numbers and see how you are going. There is free software I can get you to do this, it doesn't work on every CPAP machine but most. You will need a card reader which do cost money unless you already have one from a digital camera, get you appointment out of the way first.
