I've been on a sleep machine for about two years, I've woke up with the mask thrown off, machine puffin a way, I've tried three different machines, mask and welllll... This aint a normal part of life you know, takes time an effort to get use to sleeping with this crapola on your face, chin strap if you like me, I had to make my own chin strap cause I blow rasberries in my sleep,,, I have a problem with pain, I discussed it a little before, So I'm always looking for a better way or somedifferent angle for sleeping.. I wake up with pain in my hands and wrist, and feet and ankles... ok i elevated the feet that helped that part, Now I purchased a air bed through Fingerhut for a rather heafty fee of three hundred dollars. LOVE those small monthly payment... any who... This thingy elevate the head of the bed and the feet like one those adjust o matic beds that I have no idea the cost... and It has been great the last three nites... First nite cause i was dog tired and worn out I slept a total five hours with out wakeing up or going to the bathroom lol... jaw ache woke me up a three am, so well the next nite four hours under the mask... last nite good also, four, hours woke up with real bad jaw pain this moanin... yeah hand still hurt but not enough to wake me up every hour, and havent drawn up and couldnot move them,, The point it's seems to be helping, if this informations helps anyone great... we all different, I had to fight the mind battle with my breating machine, i still have nightmares sometimes about my abusive past, crazy chit always real aggressive... but these machines are like false teeth and hearing aids they don't feel natural, so it takes time to get use to em, i just tried to relax and not me worried if i wore the mask all nite or not. Just one day at a time, one little step at a time, If this new air bed works out for me I'll let everyone know... If not it goes back in thirty days.. best wishes friends

I had a bad night too last night. Wife complained that my machine was working over time too! I awoke with awful gut ache and a bowel full of wind. I feel absolutely shattered today, mask stayed on however. Like you, I find the're like wearing a prosphetic, not natural. I wish there were kind of surgery we could all have to stop this apnea. I am 36, to have to spend the rest of my hopefully long life wearing this is bloody daunting! I miss the fresh air on my face, a gentle breeze from an opened window. I have nasal restrictions so HAVE to wear a full face mask. Life goes on. At least with my alcoholism, the day I stopped drinking, I could forget I ever had it (no AA just acceptence.) This machine is a constant reminder of my 'disability.' IN a word friend, I feel for you!

Mine has a mind of its own. When I can think of a suitable name for her I will let you know. She likes to play games like hide and go seek. Pinches me on the cheek knows that they didn't order the full face mask so she reminds me of it. She will blow air out of my mouth if it is open. Then I swallow and rumba, rumba gas situation down below. Like everyone knows what comes in must come out. She pulls and knots my hair when trying to adjust the head bands. I believe that she is trying to make a pretty bow but its gotta go.I lay down after min of trying to fix the prob. Only to wake up with it crammed in the cornor the waterbed or on the floor next to me. No she doesn't go far just far enough not to be noticed until I wake up.
