problems with c-pap

My husband went to the doctor for a follow up appointment. Dr wants him to go back in the sleep lab for a titration study. Home health care is upset because we want to delay the purchase of c-pap machine. The insurance is okay with paying to rent the machine until husband gets test results.
Insurance will only pay for one c pap machine every 5 years.There are problems with home health care .They were suppose to set up a purchase of machine this Friday. The are not working with us on continuing renting machine.Any ideas how to get them to do what I have requested? I got a call from home health care telling me they will let him rent it. Then another person calls saying the insurance said they would pay for a c-pap machine and a bio machine in one year. Called insurance they will only pay for one machine every 5 years. I want proof they are going to let him keep renting machine. Anyone ever been through this? It is hard to know who to trust.

That's a tough one. As it was explained to me by my CPAP provider, the ins. co. pays 80% of the monthly rental while I pay 20%. My part came out to around $17 a month. After 10 months, the machine was mine, free and clear. The ins. will only pay 10 months' rental every 5 years. So when my machine is 5 years old, I can get a new rental and pay 20% like I did before.

You don't mention if he still has the machine he was renting. Does it belong to home health?

My husband is still renting the c-pap from home health care. Spent 3 hours this morning trying to get an answer. Did a conference call?
Found out he can rent machine until gets another sleep study. Insurance called to let me know husband could have 2nd sleep study.
Dr office haven't got referral in their system so won't make appointment.
Very frustrating.Thanks for your input.
