Sleep Apnea Support Group
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. People with sleep apnea partially awaken as they struggle to breathe, but in the morning they may not be aware of sleep disturbances.
Do you have a cpap yet? That's what they do to treat sleep apnea, get you one of those. They really help. The mask can be a little awkward at first, but you get used to it.
I'm here to learn as much as I can about the disorder.
Thanks.
the bi-PAP machines that have a lower pressure for breathing out sound good, but so far i haven't needed one. probably because i am on auto. whatever works, do it i say. it takes a bit of getting used to it but is worth it, so keep trying everyone... all the best.
mine is so quiet - the machine is silent and the air flowing through the mask is kinda soothing. probably i tolerate it well because i was so desperate to get relief - severe apnea of longstanding with many disabling complications. so my tolerance level is quite high.
www.resmed.com
it has good summary info on sleep apnea and treatment options. resmed are the makers of the machine i'm using.
Thanks
