Sleep Apnea Support Group
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. People with sleep apnea partially awaken as they struggle to breathe, but in the morning they may not be aware of sleep disturbances.
First of all, congratulations on the usage of your CPAP and the great immediate results you are feeling. I do believe these are good goals for all of us to reach.
I'm pretty sure that your dry mouth in the morning is caused by breathing through your mouth. If you are not breathing through your nose, then you have air being forced in during inspiration and air going through your mouth on expiration. The end result is a dry mouth.
This certainly will make your mouth feel like a desert.
One item to watch out for is the cold weather. Once you turn the heater on in your house, you may need to increase the humidity level on your CPAP machine to counteract the drier air caused by your home heater.
Perhaps some stretching exercises before bedtime and again upon awakening will help with your stiff back.
I am happy for you regarding your recent success with your CPAP therapy!
Take care,
TheWino
stretch and relax before bed, also lie on your side, you don't have to lie on your back so do get comfortable in bed
