Sleep Apnea Support Group
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. People with sleep apnea partially awaken as they struggle to breathe, but in the morning they may not be aware of sleep disturbances.
You said that you are still very, very tired. Are you getting enough sleep at night and have you been to your sleep doctor to discuss? It may be time for your pressure to be adjusted.

Basically AHI stand for Apnea Hypoapnea Index and is how we measure the serverity of SA we have and we can then compare our daily data versus that figure.
our AHI how many times we stop beathing on average per hour for 10 sec's or more.
We want to be under 5, normal people stop breathing between 0-5 time per hour, with SA there are 3 levels of serverity, 5-15 Mild, 15-30 Moderate and 30+ Servere. Each time an apnea occurs we not only don't get vital oxygen that we need to our heart and brain but we also wake up either conciously or sub conciously therefore never getting through the sleep stage we need and that is why we are tired all the time because we think we have slept but we haven't. Most machines are data capable and can give us read out about what we have been doing minute by minute during the night and this includes our AHI, any leaks, usage etc. Do you see a simcard in your machine? If not the only way you could see this data is to take it to either your sleep specialist or DME and ask them to give you a printout. If yours has a simcrad, I can give you a site where you can download the software for free but your machine may be too old to use this software. Can you contact who you got it from to ask them? Let us know how you go.
Thanks for the help.
