Sleep Apnea Support Group
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. People with sleep apnea partially awaken as they struggle to breathe, but in the morning they may not be aware of sleep disturbances.
As for congestion, humidity either too high or low, as well as air temperature can cause congestion for different people. I would recommend that you try different humidity levels (which is usually directly related the air temperature). A change in humidity levels in either direction may be helpful. I have random nasal congestion at night, but always have had it long before SA/CPAP came along.
Masks/humidity/air temperature all can cause your problems, so I would try different combinations (least expensive first) and maybe you can find your "sweet spot."
I too have dry mouth to the point it wakes me up and feels like my tongue is stuck to the roof of my mouth.
I use a small size pillows mask.
Are you sure your hose is attacked property at the head, mine swivels which is nice. I was told my mask was a new one so not sure if this is the part that was changed or not.
