Sleep Apnea Support Group
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. People with sleep apnea partially awaken as they struggle to breathe, but in the morning they may not be aware of sleep disturbances.
After my Cpap titration, Boone told me anything about the results, I got a Cal from the DME company about setting up the Cpap right away. Boone asked me what kind of machine I wanted or if I even was able to get it right away.
When the nurse from the sleep doctor's office called me and I said I was confused, she got all defensive and said that if I wanted to, I could make an appointment to discuss the results with the "almighty " doctor, but basically the study showed that the Cpap takes the sleep apnea away. I said no thanks, no appointment, can't afford another copay since I have to see the sleep doctor after I use the Cpap for a couple of weeks.
My rheumatologist explains my results vlia email if I need treatment due to something the tests show.
I also got frustrated when I went to get my Cpap and the ft showed me the how much AI was gonna have to pay. I asked why I wasn't told anything about the financial stuff and the lady seemed almost offended by my questions and sent the receptionist to explain the financial stuff to me ..hello, I'm not stupid, just because I need a Cpap doesn't make me a dummy.
The ft also kept saying that "normally" she goes to people's homes to set up the Cpap. Its like she wanted to tell me I was doing something wrong picking it up myself.
I guess, she was mad that she wasn't gonna get paid extra for coming to my house. Well, even though, I have health issues and I'm currently home for a couple of weeks on sick leave, I am still able to get out of the house.
Ray, I totally understand your confusion. I would follow Ruth's advice and ask to have the results explained to you.
Its upsetting to me how they just want our money, but don't seem to really wanna help us.
I hope you get some answers, Ray, and that you are able to use your Cpap and feel better.
Take care.
