he had a spot come up on his head.. he is 70.. they took out the growth and then found cancer in some limph nodes... he tried interfuron(?) but made him tooooo sick.. is all hope lost? or could it be just there.. where they operated? and never come back aqain?? need help and answers...
I recommend that he go see an oncologist who specializes in melanoma or start a clinical trial....It is never good when melanoma is found in lymph nodes. I dont want to sound negative or scare you. Look into all avenues of treatment. Where are you located? There are many new things that they are trying for melanoma. Maybe he will be able to try something else? Also, has he had a PET scan? That shows any cancer cells anywhere in your body. How long did he try the interferon for? You can try to contact the John Wayne Cancer Institute at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica california. Dr. Morton is the guru of melanoma and is the one who invented interferon. They may be able to give you some advice.
