In notice the post was back in October. I hope things have gone well and that you are getting ready for the holidays.
The one thing that I found very empowering was knowelge. Read everything you can about the type you have, every treatment, and every cancer center. Make sure you are proactive in your treatment and never let a doctor make your choices for you his job is to tell you what he has found give you his recommendation and tell you why.
I could go on and on about doctors that I have spoken with that had no clue what they are doing in the way of melanoma. Go to who YOU think is the best but do your research on them and the cancer center you choice.
MD ANDERSON CANCER CENTER in Houston is by far in my reasearch the best. Although I am hearing about a center that Johnny wayne gave all his money to when he died (he had melanoma) and I am hearing they are the leads in melanoma research. Remember it is your life on your terms, you just have a bit more baggage then others and it is how you deal with it that makes the diffrence.
Keep yor head up and your face ot of the sun and never stop smiling.
You are surely worth a zillion. Your positive attitude is so wonderful. I think that my cancer problem is probably far less of a problem than for most cancer survivors on this site. However, non the less it is a worry. I have now had three spots removed, one being a large squamous cell tumor on my hand. I also have had pre cancer cells removed and I already know I have more on my face that will be addressed at my next regular visit. At this time it seems I may be making regular checkups for quite some time.
My life whirls and rotates with many different problems. It seems as though I start feeling better emotionally about this and that and then some other tragedy comes along. The lates is that my husband fell and broke his hip in four places. He is in week three of his recovery. It's been tough physically as well as financially. We were struggling before the accident and now without work we are doomed. I do know that a positive mind will help us get through these rough times so I'm staying as positive as posible.
Thanks to all that care and understand. Happy holidays to all.
I do however have a question why are they waiting to take care of the ones on your face?
" remember the pain you feel today because it is the only remind of the happiness you get tomorrow"
The way I see it if we don't have hard times or bad times how could we ever know true happiness. Just food for thought!..hugs
Stay strong!
