I've had a few biopsies and small cancers removed. But the changes of different spots on my face and in other places causes me some concern. So yet again there will be more biopsies and probably a bit of cutting too. I just hope that this nagging feeling is not grounded in anything serious. I just feel that this time it could be melanoma .

I could tell that some of my spots were different...and this time I think I got them all early enough. some freezing, and scraping, no cutting.

If you know something is wrong...follow up, follow up, follow up. I had a spot on my eye and I went to 3 doctors who all said it was nothing. then, taking my mom to an appointment to her eye doctor, the woman looked across the room and said "what are you doing about the skin cancer on your eye?" BOOM.

I found my own surgeon and set it up...we were newly relocated to a new area...it was crazy. but well worth it. I got a new lower eyelid and the guy did a great job. I KNEW something was wrong. where would I be if I had let it keep growing?

Hi ND, Nice Fish! I had to get the old Melanoma chopped out last year. You are doing the right thing by taking care and getting rid of it early. Hang in there and I will send one up to the Big Guy for you!

I have been dealing with this for 40 years. The first 25 years were not too bad but the last 15 have been. I am a very fair blonde who did not have since enough to not want a sun tan. Since they started doing Mohs surgery I have had more than 30 on my face all BCC. Then 3 on the back of my arm all SCC. You can live with this, you just have to be vigilant and have a good dermatologist. If he/she is leaving very visible scars, find a different one. Don't skip any check ups and do point out any spots you think are suspicious. I am now 87, so hang in there.
