Sinusitis

Im getting colds and sinusitis often, especially right after visiting our grandson in a nearby city where they have a higher Pollen count. I'm also around children there. Have bought air purifier and plan on washing my hands a lot. Need as much preventive advice as possible as situation is getting out of hand. Thank you.

This is one of my major problems too. What I have found that helps to prevent recurrent sinusitis is taking a high vitamin C supplement such as EmergenC 3 times a day. Also, most importantly, I find I have to get a LOT of sleep - at least 9 hours, and sometimes 10 a night because this seems to be necessary for my body.

Arleen, if you can get over the idea of it...the neti pot flushes out everything in the nasal passageways and sinuses plus it is super relaxing and takes my stress away. I was getting sinus infections every other week, then I read about neti pots and their benefits. I started using mine 1-2 times a day about a year ago and haven't had an infection or cold/irritation since. I use the neilmed system with plastic neti pot. Truly a lifesaver for me!
I hope whatever you try gives you some relief.

Thank you. I'm in panic mode at the moment as I just got back from another trip and I am sick again. I took extra vitamin C, washed my hands like crazy and on the last night there, got a stuffy nose. It's been almost a week in my regular city and I have very low grade fever, headaches and a slight nasal discharge and I feel very week. I'm almost positive it's that typical infection that will likely land me back on antibiotics. The antibiotics always work, but have taken there toll on my stomach.
Salli....what exactly do you put in your neti pot? Please describe what your solution is and how to prepare it in detail. Thank you.
