What is MI paste? What is it suppose to do?

MI paste protects our teeth from the decay caused by lack of saliva. Saliva is alkiline and a natural antibiotic. My dentist told me to spread it on my teeth at night.

Yes, just put in on your finger then rub onto your gumline, not your teeth, your gumline. I happen to use a small rubber tip toothbrush tool. I use it all the time.

Non-tray Application:
Apply a generous layer of MI Paste to your tooth surfaces using a cotton swab or gloved finger
Leave undisturbed for 3 minutes

This sounds interesting to me, sense I'm constantly having work done on my teeth. Not sure if it's from Sjogrens or just my teeth. Can you buy it over the counter anywhere or do you have to get it online? I'd like to try it. Although I hate that Biotene gel. But I do use it sometimes. I know it's just for dryness though, not for your teeth.

Does anyone happen to know the cost of the MI paste?

I ordered online without a prescription and paid around $26 for it. Like everything else, it's expensive! And it does not stimulate production of saliva as does the Biotene gel (which in don't much like either). It replaces the minerals, specifically calcium, that we lose somehow because we don't have as much saliva as we used to. Supposedly, it males the teeth more decay- resistant.

I use the Biotene (sp?) toothpaste, mouthwash, spray and gum for dry mouth. It seems to work very well.
