Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.

This is my rheumy who btw is a Yale Professor and Professor at UConn medical school. He is by far the leading doctor in Sjogrens in my area and does seminars speaks at national conferences.

BTW, saw him today and he told me they have two new things to help w/Sjogrens BENLLYSTA which is for Lupus should be available soon and experiments with stem cells is working amazingly well. He told me 80% of our symptoms decrease even dry eyes and dry mouth.

So there is hope.......he had no dates on the stem cells.

Thank you for the video information. I watched it with interest and learned more from his clear presentation. And thanks for the update on the Benlysta info. I am sure some of us have 'milder' cases than others, and it helps to know that someone out there has not forgotten us.
